Kerry Maher, PT, MD, Vice President of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Consulting and Physician Relations

Kerry A. Maher, PT, MD, Senior Vice President of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Consulting and Education, Medical Director of Admissions. Dr. Maher has been practicing medicine for more than 25 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia. She was a licensed physical therapist, practicing at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for three years.

Dr. Maher pursued a career in medicine, attending the Medical College of Georgia where she earned her MD. She completed her internship in internal medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and a three-year residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago at Northwestern University now called the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab.

After her residency, she joined the academic faculty at the Spain Rehabilitation Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama. In 2004, Dr. Maher joined Brooks Rehabilitation as a consulting physician. After assuming several leadership positions within Brooks, she officially joined the executive team in 2020. She continues to lecture throughout the southeast and nationally about rehabilitation while managing Brooks consult service. She also leads Brooks Rehabilitation’s education department.

Dr. Maher currently serves as faculty for the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
