With more time spent at the computer, we wanted to give you three quick ideas to strengthen without leaving your desk.

First, a simple leg extension. Sit back in your chair and straighten the knee, until you feel your thighs tighten and the leg is fully straight, slowly return to a starting position.

Next, for more postural strength, we suggest a scapular retraction. Think about your shoulder blades and squeeze them together as if trying to pension object between them. You may wanna hold a few seconds here and then release, squeeze, release.

Last is a quick full body movement. Make sure your chair is stable. If not roll it against the wall or desk so it doesn’t slide, scoot to the edge of your chair. Lean your nose over your toes and squeeze your glutes to stand all the way tall, slowly return to a sitting position.

Since these are quick strength exercises, it’s recommended to perform two to three sets of 10 repetitions of each.

Don’t forget to move.
