Targeting aging populations, the tech tool will focus specifically on the home health market, giving users mobility to and from common destinations

Roundtrip, leaders in driving better health outcomes by connecting healthcare and transportation providers to patients, has launched its mobility services in a partnership with Brooks Rehabilitation’s Custom Care division.

The new application gives the technology company a grip on a rapidly-emerging and typically underserved area of the healthcare ecosystem. Whether it’s going to the grocery store, a visiting a family member’s home, or taking another basic “lifestyle” trip, custom care clients will be able to schedule in advance and on-call rides to common destinations through care coordinators.

“Oftentimes quality of life and independence are mutually dependent on one another, and that’s what this partnership is delivering to members of the Brooks Rehabilitation Custom Care division,” said Roundtrip CEO Mark Switaj.

“From a business standpoint, we’ve recognized that the company adds value to organizations adjacent to the healthcare industry, so this new development gives us the versatility we need to welcome more prospective users. We are privileged to provide innovation in mobility to meet growing common concerns for the aging population including social isolation, financial management, and personal health and wellness.”

The initial launch will cover Brooks’ ‘Custom Care’ division, serving hundreds of potential riders. Brooks Custom Care services are designed to help individuals that may need assistance with bathing, dressing, cooking, cleaning and companionship. Having accessible transportation readily available makes the care process seamless. Logging precious data and fine-tuning the user experience will be part of the next phase of the partnership, as Brooks and Roundtrip begin to better understand how this population is accessing the tool.

“We selected Roundtrip as our transportation solution based on their consistency and quality. We were very impressed with their quality reporting tool, their local transportation network and their estimate and billing options,” said Kelly Wells, director of Brooks Rehabilitation Custom Care.

“We’re excited to have an innovative transportation resource for our clients to help enhance their quality of life.” Roundtrip’s 24/7 customer service and navigation center team will be part of the package, allowing for real-time monitoring and security for technical support. In addition, the company will work closely with Brooks to identify specific rider needs, such as wheelchair vans for more advanced mobility concerns.
