Nancy Stewart is often referred to as “Saint Nancy” due to the patience and kindness she exhibits to others. Nancy has been a volunteer at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital since 2007, and has been honored as the 2014 Brooks Volunteer of the Year.
Throughout her time volunteering for Brooks she has served on a variety of days and tasks. She has been responsible for all aspects of the Brooks gift shop including opening, closing and taking care of all the customer service needs by herself. She also has helped train and mentor a number of the other volunteers in the gift shop.
Nancy is very patient, caring and customer focused when it comes to helping patients, family members and staff that come into the shop. She even has “doggie treats” for the therapy dogs that visit.
Outside of Brooks, Nancy also volunteers countless hours at Memorial Hospital, and is a caregiver to two women that live nearby. Nancy helps to make their appointments, buy groceries, and manages their personal affairs.
Please join us in congratulating Nancy Stewart – 2014 Brooks Volunteer of the Year!
