Post-Offer Pre-Employment Screens

Post-Offer Pre-Employment Screens (POETS) are a way to ensure that an employee is physically able to perform the job in which he/she/they were offered prior to beginning the position offered.

This screen is paid for by the employer for the employee to protect both parties from possible injury once the employee begins. Often, a job description is given to the evaluator to provide an insight on job duties and requirements. The evaluator will look at standardized tests, subjective reports from the employee, as well as objective data to determine safe levels of work and if the employee is safe to begin employment.
