Sciatica

Sciatica is a condition when a patient feels pain along their sciatic nerve.

This can occur because of a disc herniation or back injury, or from impingement in the hip. Sciatica pain will travel along the back of the leg down to the foot in a sharp, electrical pain, and may or may not be paired with changes in sensation or strength. Rehabilitation focused on addressing the health of the nerve, along with targeting the reason for the nerve injury, can reduce a patient’s pain and improve their functional mobility.
