
Brooks-UF PHHP Research Collaboration Coordinator
Amanda Kastner, PhD, earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, in 2010. She then taught middle school band class in Virginia and Florida for seven years. She earned a master’s degree in music education in 2017 and a PhD in music education in 2021, both at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, Florida. After earning her PhD, Dr. Kastner worked for the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) as an academic assistant for the Master of Public Health and Social and Behavioral Sciences programs and as the college-wide academic coordinator.
In 2024, Dr. Kastner joined the Brooks-UF PHHP Research Collaboration as the collaboration coordinator. In this role, she helps coordinate research and education activities associated with the collaboration, such as assistance with grant proposals and applications, regulatory compliance and reporting. She also assists with the strategic development and administration of the partnership.
