Brooks Rehabilitation Adds Florida First Care to its Home Health Division

Brooks Rehabilitation is committed to growing our services to meet the needs of our patients throughout Florida. Effective May 17, 2021, Brooks Rehabilitation acquired Florida First Care Home Health Agency (FFC), adding them to our Home Health family. Our Brooks Home Health team has always been dedicated to offering the most advanced, high-quality home health care services for all patients. This acquisition will only further help us to do so.

Bill Engelbrecht founded Florida First Care in 1993. The company successfully operates in Palatka and Orange Park, as well as The Villages. “There are many similarities between FFC and Brooks including our Missions to provide excellence in care. FFC is a medium-sized company with a mom-and-pop feel at each office. It was essential to find an organization that would keep that same family-like environment. Brooks shares that same culture but also provides additional benefits and cutting-edge technology for both our staff and patients,” said Engelbrecht.

With the acquisition, 22 administrative and clinical staff members from FFC will become Brooks Rehabilitation employees. Additionally, Bill Engelbrecht will provide assistance with staff transitions, referral engagement and business development.

Brooks Rehabilitation Home Health serves 23 counties in North and Central Florida, complementing its other post-acute services including inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, outpatient therapy, physician practice and community programs and services.
