Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is the inflammation of the plantar fascia on the bottom of the foot, which is a structure that helps provide support for the foot when walking.

When this structure is inflamed, it often will be painful along the bottom of the foot during the first few steps of the day, along with standing and walking after sitting for a prolonged period. Rehabilitation focused on stretching the bottom of the foot and ankle, along with strengthening the leg from the hip down to the toes, can reduce a patient’s pain and allow them to return to pain free walking.
