Welcome to the Brooks Motion Analysis Center
The Brooks Motion Analysis Center (MAC) is a specialized clinical and research assessment facility focused on gait and movement impairments in people of all ages.
We use innovative technology, expert clinical examination and biomechanical analysis to advance rehabilitation science and clinical practice. Our goal is to improve recovery and performance in individuals with neurologic and orthopedic impairments.

We provide specialized assessments that will help you and your healthcare provider better understand what impairments may be impacting your function, particularly with walking ability and return-to-sport progression.

Preparing for Your Appointment
To complete a motion capture assessment, the cameras need to be able to โseeโ your arms and legs move freely. We also need to see how your body moves and ensure our sensors stick to your skin.
What to wear:
- Short sleeve shirt or tank top
- Loose-fitted shorts that can be rolled up or spandex
- Bathing suits are acceptable
- Properly fitted shoes that do not cover the ankles
- Hair tie to pull up long hair
- NO LOTION or body oils/sprays

What to Expect
State-of-the-art Equipment
We use 3D motion capture technology to deliver customized recommendations to promote recovery from walking disorders.
Expert Assessment
We conduct a thorough assessment with a 45-60 minute exam, which includes testing for joint mobility, strength and muscle tone.
Comprehensive Data Interpretation
A team consisting of a physical therapist and a biomechanical engineer will assess your medical history, clinical assessment and motion capture to help interpret the best treatment plan for you.
