June is Pride Month and it is a time to celebrate the contributions of LGBTQIA+ people to society.
Throughout history, LGBTQIA+ people have made significant contributions in all areas of life, from the arts and sciences to politics and activism. If you are looking for some LGBTQIA activists and trailblazers to celebrate in June and the rest of the year, here are a few to get you started.
LGBTQIA+ trailblazers who have made a difference in the world
Billie Jean King is a tennis legend who is also a vocal advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights. She has spoken out against homophobia and discrimination, and she has used her platform to raise awareness of LGBTQIA+ issues.
Alan Turing was a British mathematician and computer scientist who is considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence. He played a key role in breaking the Enigma code during World War II, which helped to shorten the war and save millions of lives.
