At 13, Cristina’s life changed when her father sustained a T6 spinal cord injury after falling while setting trusses at work. This experience has given Cristina a unique perspective, allowing her to speak to the challenges of living through such a life-changing event as the child of a survivor. One of the most challenging aspects for Cristina has been witnessing her father’s struggle with his new reality and dealing with the uncertainty of what comes next. She also finds it hard to discuss her emotions from the day of the accident.
