Allison Tharaldsen is a licensed mental health counselor and a nationally certified counselor practicing as a patient and family counselor at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital – University Campus. She also serves as a certified child/adolescent trauma professional. 

Tharaldsen received a bachelor’s degree in family, youth and community sciences from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo. She joined Brooks in 2023 as a member of the Inpatient Psychology Department, specifically a patient and family counselor. She works with a wide variety of medical diagnoses and assists patients, families and caregivers through the emotional challenges of rehabilitation and recovery by ensuring they have the skills to cope during the hospital stay. 

Tharaldsen also works with Brooks Rehabilitation’s Inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation program, providing counseling support for pediatric patients, families and caregivers. Also serving as a part-time clinician, she provides counseling services to individuals with mental health diagnoses.
