JB was injured in a motorcycle accident in 2006 at the age of 19 while attending Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Today, JB uses a manual wheelchair with power assist to get around and drives a van equipped with hand controls, a power swivel seat and a ramp. The most challenging part of his post-injury life was adjusting to a new daily functioning. JB has participated in the SCI day treatment program, outpatient therapy and the Adaptive Sports and Recreation program. He is comfortable discussing all aspects of living with a spinal cord injury.
