Jerry was injured in an automobile accident in 1977 at the age of 21. Jerry uses crutches for mobility assistance and enjoys complete independence, driving with a spin knob on the steering wheel. The most challenging part of returning home for Jerry was trying to function as normally as possible, learning to walk again and regain the use of his hands and fingers.
