Lilian’s husband was injured in 2020 at the age of 32 when he fell from a roof while setting trusses. She describes the most challenging aspects of their experience as having to stop working to care for him, adapting to new routines, learning how to care for him, and making their home accessible. Her husband participated in the SCI day treatment program, and both he and his family are actively involved in the Adaptive Sports and Recreation program. He also frequently utilizes the Neuro Recovery Center. Lilian is open and comfortable discussing all aspects of her role as a caregiver and a wife to someone with a spinal cord injury and how she balances these responsibilities with parenting.
