Our partnership

The Brooks-UF PHHP Research Collaboration’s mission is to be a leader in advancing rehabilitation science, education and practice through patient-centered research.

One of Brooks’ main partnerships, the research collaboration with the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions (UF PHHP) had been developed over many years with the creation of a formal partnership in 2013.

A group of research students from UF and Brooks clinicians support a spinal cord injury research participant on a treadmill.

Merging the strengths of a major academic research institution with those of a comprehensive rehabilitation system, serving a large, diverse patient population, is a rare but powerful combination that is a driving force in our research today.

To date, the collaboration has generated more than 100 publications and over $11 million in grant funds.
