Brooks Rehabilitation has earned a third consecutive Magnet redesignation and additionally achieved Magnet with Distinction®, the highest and most elite tier of hospital recognition awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for nursing excellence and quality patient care.
Magnet Recognition® is widely regarded as the gold standard for nursing excellence. Currently, only 665 hospitals worldwide have earned Magnet designation, and just 95 organizations have achieved Magnet with Distinction. Brooks is the only inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Florida and one of only three in the nation to hold this prestigious honor.
“This recognition reflects the extraordinary dedication, compassion and professionalism demonstrated by our nurses and interdisciplinary teams every day,” said Joanne Hoertz, RN, MSN, CRRN, chief nursing officer at Brooks Rehabilitation. “Achieving Magnet with Distinction is a testament to the culture of excellence that defines Brooks Rehabilitation and our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.”
Brooks was recognized for exemplary performance in several key areas, including:
- 86% percent of nursing units outperforming national benchmarks for leader satisfaction and nurse engagement.
- Strong clinical quality outcomes, including outperforming benchmarks in hospital-acquired pressure injuries, catheter-associated urinary tract infections and central line-associated bloodstream infections.
The Magnet with Distinction recognition highlights Brooks’ commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, nursing research, leadership and professional development. It also reflects the impact Brooks’ bedside nurses and clinical teams make on the lives of patients and the community every day.
“This achievement belongs to every member of the Brooks team,” said Hoertz. “We are incredibly grateful to our nurses and all team members whose passion and dedication continue to set Brooks apart as a leader in rehabilitation care.”
