Amanda was injured in an automobile accident in 2003 at the age of 17 and uses a manual chair to get around daily. She enjoys complete independence and drives a vehicle with hand controls, an access ramp and a power seat. She found that the most challenging aspects of going home were making home modifications, regaining her independence and finding her place in the world. Amanda used Adaptive Sports and Recreation and brain and spinal cord programs. She is available to discuss all aspects of living with a spinal cord injury.
