Donnie was injured in an automobile accident in 2008 at the age of 24. Donnie found the most challenging aspects of returning home to be transferring, getting daily exercise, managing skin care, and staying focused on short- and long-term goals. Donnie enjoys complete independence today and drives a 4×4 vehicle with hand controls. He also participates in the Adaptive Sports and Recreation program. Comfortable discussing all aspects of life with a spinal cord injury, Donnie is happy to talk with others and hopes to be a resource for anyone in need.
