Staff Physiatrist

With over 30 years of experience in the medical field, Shereef Girgis, MD, joins Brooks as a staff physiatrist serving patients at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital – University Campus. He is board-certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine.  

Dr. Girgis has an extensive background in post-acute rehabilitation and chronic pain management. Most recently, he served as the medical director of Advent Health Redmond’s adult inpatient rehabilitation unit and Emeritus Chair of the Harbin Clinic Spine and Pain Center.  

Dr. Girgis  received his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel School of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed an internship in internal medicine from Albert Einstein Medical Center and went on to complete his three-year residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Following residency, he completed two more years of internal medicine at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, and a Mayday Fellowship in pain management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Girgis was triple boarded in internal medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine.
