Brooks IHL Scholarly Symposium a Success

The Brooks Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) held their second annual Scholarly Symposium on Saturday, June 10. More than 140 clinicians from across the country attended this full-day event designed to showcase educational opportunities in evidence-based management for rehabilitation practice.

Participants enjoyed a myriad of evidence-based scholarly educational activities. The keynote presentation featured Lisa Saladin, PT, Ph.D., Vice-President of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Current Residents and Fellows-in-Training in the Brooks IHL Neurologic, Orthopaedic, Geriatric, Women’s Health, and Pediatric Residency and OMPT Fellowship programs shared close to 30 oral case study presentations and poster presentations throughout the day.

The educational sessions wrapped up with a presentation from Brooks President and COO, Michael Spigel, PT, MHA entitled “What Do You Do When You Find Out What You Think You Know Just Isn’t True!”

The conclusion of the Scholarly Symposium featured a lively panel debate on the subject of “Technology in Healthcare, Education and Clinical Practice.” Bob Rowe, PT, DPT, DMT, MHS, Fellow, American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists and the Executive Director of Brooks IHL moderated.
