Joshua Wilson, MD, helps support the comprehensive care and rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injuries across Brooks’ system of care. His clinical interests include spinal cord injury rehabilitation and helping patients maximize function, independence and quality of life.
Dr. Wilson earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of South Carolina Upstate and his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his internal medicine internship with Atrium Health and his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the University of Washington. Dr. Wilson then completed a fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago.
Throughout his medical training, Dr. Wilson has been actively involved in spinal cord injury research, education and professional service. His research has explored rehabilitation utilization following traumatic spinal cord injury, electrophysiological testing and imaging in spinal cord injury and the use of markerless pose estimation for movement analysis in stroke and spinal cord injury. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences.
