Jose was hit by a car while repairing his broken-down car at the roadside at the age of 21. He wears a prosthetic for approximately 18 hours a day. One of his biggest challenges has been dealing with insecurities about his self-image and wondering how he could play sports, work out, travel and maintain overall mobility. Jose has participated in outpatient rehab, adaptive sports and gym memberships to overcome these challenges.
