The University of North Floridaโs Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at the Brooks College of Healthย has been named theย best physical therapy graduate program in the country for the second year in a row, according to GraduatePrograms.com.
UNF ranked No. 1 in the Top 25 Physical Therapy Graduate Program rankings, and was one of only two Florida state universities listed in the ranking. The University of Central Florida was ranked No. 11.
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)ย is a three-year program at UNF gives students in-depth knowledge of the basic and clinical sciences relevant to physical therapy and prepares students to understand, correlate and apply theoretical foundations of knowledge to the practice of physical therapy.
Iย am very proud of this No. 1 ranking by GraduatePrograms.com, an organization that allows students to rate and review their program,โ said Dr. Pam Chally, dean of the Brooks College of Health at UNF and a Board Member for Brooks Rehabilitation.
Brooks Rehabilitation is a major supporter of UNF’s program. Several of Brooks clinicians have served as teachers in the program, and many of the students spend time outside of class volunteering and acquiring additional learningย through many of Brooks’ programs.
โThe physical therapy program at UNF is competitive and challenging, yet gives off a very welcoming vibe,โ said a physical therapy graduate student currently enrolled in the program. โAll the professors are willing to help students in anything they need and are willing to take time out of their days to assist in any way possible.โ
Theย program rankings, compiled using data gathered between Sept. 1, 2012, and March 31, encompass reviews posted by more than 70,000 students participating in over 1,600 graduate programs nationwide.
Graduateprograms.com assigns 15 ranking categories to each graduate program at each graduate school. Rankings cover a variety of student topics such as academic competitiveness, career support, financial aid and quality of network.
