Bartram Crossing and University Crossing Named to U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Nursing Homes” List

Brooks Rehabilitation is honored to announce that their two skilled nursing facilities, Bartram Crossing (BC) and University Crossing (UC), are among the elite 16% in the country that earned a “High Performing” rating, the highest possible achievement, on the U.S. News & World Report’s 2022-2023 “Best Nursing Homes” list.
Nursing home care can be as short as a few days or weeks after a hospitalization or it can be years if aging family members can no longer live on their own. To help find the best match for a loved one, in 2022-2023 U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 facilities throughout the country and rated most of them in two different areas, short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. To be recognized as one of the 2022-2023 U.S. News Best Nursing Homes, a facility must have been “High Performing” in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care or both. Only 2,426 (16%) met those criteria out of the 15,178 nursing homes evaluated by U.S. News. Of the 698 nursing homes in Florida, 44 received an overall rating of 5 out of 5.
Both BC and UC ranked better than both the Florida average and national average in the following quality areas: Discharge Home, Falls and Infections. U.S. News Short-Term Rehabilitation Ratings evaluate eligible nursing homes in the care for people in need of skilled nursing or rehabilitation services following hospitalization for surgery, heart attack, stroke, injury or other conditions. The data used to evaluate these facilities come from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicare Services (CMS) and include metrics of nurse staffing, patient outcomes, facility complaints, patient safety and rehabilitation therapy.
