Kris Roberts, RHIA, Chief Operating Officer – Inpatient and Home Health
Kris Roberts, RHIA, currently serves as the chief operating officer for Inpatient and Home Health divisions.
Roberts has been with Brooks since 2003. She started in the outpatient division as the health information manager. After a series of promotions, she took on new responsibilities as the system vice president of revenue cycle and shared services. In 2015, she led the integration of the AmeriCare Home Health acquisition, which increased Brooks’ service area to 23 counties in Northeast Florida and increased the number of patients served in the home health division by 60%.
In 2017, Roberts then moved into operations as SVP for the Brooks Home Health division. She was then promoted to chief operations officer for Inpatient and Home Health divisions in 2020.
As COO, Robert’s teams completed the addition of the 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital on the Bartram Campus, as well as a 10 bed expansion and renovation of the 170-bed University campus inpatient rehabilitation hospital. This increased Brooks capacity to serve more patients by an additional 50%.
Roberts holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, N.C. She received her Medical Rehabilitation Management Certification and is credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator. She is also the current chair of the Rehab Council for the Florida Hospital Association and a board member for the University of North Florida Health Care Administration Advisory Committee.
