Dr. Anderson (she/hers/ella) is a clinical rehabilitation psychologist in Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital – University Campus and Behavioral Medicine. She is a Board Certified Clinical Psychologist, is licensed in Florida and Michigan, and graduated with her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University near Portland, OR. Dr. Anderson completed her Health Service Psychology internship and post-doctoral residency supervised experience at Michigan State University Counseling & Psychiatric Services, where she was trained in multiple evidence-based approaches, multiculturalism, integrated health care, administration & program development, dialectical behavior therapy, and psychological assessment. For three years, she created and directed a program focusing on crisis intervention and treatment of patients with severe and persistent mental illnesses, which often included chronic health conditions and high-risk clinical issues. Dr. Anderson joined Brooks Rehabilitation in July of 2021 and provides outpatient psychological evaluation and treatment with a focus in adjustment to medical conditions and addressing behaviors that deter functional improvement, reaching independence, and meeting rehabilitation treatment goals. She additionally follows patients to provide psychotherapy through the Brain Injury Day Treatment Program and the Spinal Cord Injury & Related Disorders Day Treatment Program.
