Healing is a progressive process post amputation. Brooks Rehabilitation’s approach to amputation rehabilitation is a high level of care personalized to meet each individual's needs.
Our goal is to have each amputee patient return to their highest quality of life from playing with kids or grandkids, or participating in rigorous workout routines and adaptive sports.
How we provide rehabilitation post-amputation
Our amputee program focuses on a holistic approach. The Brooks team works closely with the patient and prosthetic companies to ensure the best experience possible. This close relationship allows amputation care to be seamless and ensures the best results for our patients.
Brooks also provides psychology services for patients struggling with the emotional aspects of limb loss, as well as providing peer and community support after initial rehabilitation.

Brooks’ team of stroke rehabilitation specialists starts with fellowship-trained physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors, psychologists, therapists, case managers, nurses, dieticians and more to ensure an interdisciplinary approach. Coming from an acute care setting? We have the medical support to help patients continue recovery while receiving rehabilitative therapy.
Assistive technology
We can help assess and support a patient’s needs at home to achieve more independence in activities of daily living.
Driver rehabilitation
Being able to drive means independence, mobility and a sense of control. We provide the training and adaptive equipment assessments needed to maintain driving privileges after initial rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation Hospitals
24/7 rehabilitation hospital care with medical staff oversight. Provides 3 hours of therapy 5 days per week, tailored to the patient’s ability.
Skilled Nursing
Medical nursing care along with therapy services as the patient continues to recover.
Home Health
Receive nursing, therapy and case management services in the home. Serving 23 Florida counties.
Outpatient Clinics
With over 50 clinics across Florida, receive physical, occupational and speech therapy care with Brooks’ highly knowledgeable clinicians.
Neuro Recovery Centers
Gain access to rehabilitative technology and workouts with expert therapists during and after initial recovery.

Brooks’ system of care accepts multiple types of insurance as well as Medicare and Florida Medicaid. We also provide self-pay options when insurance no longer covers treatment.
